This self-guided full-day adventure starts from Hvar Town and follows a recommended route through some of the island’s most beautiful beaches, traditional villages, historic towns, scenic roads, and panoramic viewpoints.
Begin your journey with Malo Grablje, an atmospheric abandoned stone village tucked away in the hills. From there, continue toward Zaraće and Dubovica, two beautiful coastal locations where you can stop for a swim, relax by the sea, or take photos surrounded by Hvar’s dramatic coastline.
Continue your drive toward Stari Grad, Vrboska, and Jelsa, three charming towns known for their stone streets, traditional architecture, harbours, and relaxed island atmosphere. Take time to explore on foot, stop for lunch or coffee, or add an optional winery or ice cream stop depending on how you want to spend your day.
For the return journey, follow the scenic old road back toward Hvar Town. This quieter route takes you through inland landscapes, traditional villages, panoramic viewpoints, and the island’s distinctive dry stone walls built by generations of local residents.
Between June and August, the route may also offer views of seasonal lavender fields, one of Hvar’s most recognizable summer landscapes.
Finish your day at Napoleon Fortress, one of the island’s best viewpoints. From here, enjoy sweeping views across Hvar Town, the Pakleni Islands, and the surrounding coastline. It is also a beautiful place to experience the sunset before returning.
